1. Does the Alpicool car refrigerator use a compressor for cooling?
Yes, all Alpicool car refrigerators use compressor for cooling

2. Does the car fridge have a power cord?
Yes, our car refrigerators all contain an AC power adapter and a DC power cord.

3. What is the difference between LGCF45 and CF45? What does 'LG' mean?
Except for the compressor, LGCF45 and CF45 have the same configurations. LGCF45 uses LG compressor, and CF45 uses Chinese compressor. 'LG' refers to Korean LG compressor.

4. Which models use LG compressors?
We currently only use LG compressors for LGT50/LGT60/LGCF45/LGCF55.

5. How long is the warranty?
1 year warranty for the whole machine and 2 year warranty for the compressor.

6. Does it work like a regular cooler when it is not plugged in?
It can stay cool for about 4 hours without being plugged in.

7. How loud is the compressor when running on Eco mode?
When you use the refrigerator in your car and plug it into a 12V socket, the noise is almost imperceptible!

8. Can I simultaneously have different temperatures between the freezer and refrigerator?
Dear customer, you can chose the Alpicool T series, TA series,TAW series, they have dual temperature control function in one refrigerator for your needs.

9. The CF45 was delivered upside-down, not sure how long the unit was upside-down. Will the unit still work properly?
If the box was undamaged, do not plug it in until after reading the instructions, inspecting it, and after sitting right side up for the minimum of 12 hours or following the instructions in the booklet included. Plugging a refrigeration unit in after moving it at angles over 45 degrees can burn out the compressor motor as the fluids have not settled. Settling takes time. Ours works great! came on a wheelbarrow, moved onto a ship, unboxed on end, sat unplugged in the chosen location for the required time, plugged in and set up according to instructions.

10. Will the fan/compressor turn off when the unit reaches set temp, and then turn on again when it gets too warm?
Yes that is how it operates. It cools to the set temp, warms up and repeats.

11. Photos of the C40 show the top openings from the ends and sides. Which way is accurate?
You can switch the door opening to either direction with the already provided hinges.

12. Is it possible to replace the K18 with a 12V adapter?
Yes, you can get AC/DC and 12V power cables online. Make sure the adapter fits Alpicool.

13. Just received unit and it will not turn on. control panel lit up, it beeped and shut off. no response from ac or dc. what is the issue?
You have to hold the on button down for about 3-4 seconds. It won’t turn on by just touching the button.

So far so good. Cools down fast, terrible instructions. Couldn't make heads or tail on certain functions. Download manual from BougerRv for their unit (alpicool manufacturers it). Cleared up confusion

We tried this rather than an ice chest on our last couple of long trips. It was great having cold drinks, saving our restaurant leftovers and having our admittedly strange breakfast foods with us. When we stopped for the night we wheeled it in and plugged it in rather than having to empty the ice chest into the hotel fridge and put the ice packs in the freezer section then reload it in the morning. It's also much nicer when visiting relatives than trying to transfer everything into their already full fridge & trying to remember which is ours and which is theirs when we leave. It is a bit larger and heavier, that's why we paid extra for the one with the wheels and pull-out handle. There is a large fridge and a smaller space that can be fridge or freezer. The temps are controlled separately. There are few buttons. The controls are context driven and not intuitive, keep the instructions handy if you want to adjust anything. The temp will fluctuate, especially when driving and stopping for meals. It has always been between 32F and 50F which is good enough for us. If you want it to be plus or minus 2 degrees you will be disappointed. We don't have the optional battery. I can only find it sold directly from Apicool for 250, currently on sale for 200 which seems like a lot for an average 4 hours runtime. Of course, they sell this same fridge direct for more than one and a half times what Amazon charges. Maybe later when Amazon carries them we'll consider one. Also, don't lose your DC cord. They list the AC adapter on their spare parts page but not the DC cord.

I set it up for freezer and refig then found i didn't need the freezer for what i was doing so i turned it into a frig. If you use it as a freezer also it uses a lot of power to maintain that

I plugged it in at home and it was at 0f and 37f as programed. But now I'm outside camping and it's 85f out here and the fridge is at 41f and the freezer is at 19f. Neither will go lower.
